Buffalo Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller day-to-day with lower-body injury

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller won’t play Wednesday against the Boston Bruins because of a lower-body injury.

Coach Lindy Ruff ruled Miller out after the team’s morning skate, and added that Miller’s status is day to day. Patrick Lalime will likely get the start, with Jhonas Enroth serving as the backup. Enroth was recalled from Portland of the AHL.

Ruff said on Tuesday that Miller’s problem is not a groin injury, and that Miller started feeling the discomfort late in Buffalo’s overtime loss to Atlanta Friday.

Miller has a 2.71 goals-against average, the fifth highest among six goalies who have started 10 or more games. Lalime has lost both of his starts this season, posting a 4.03 goals-against average.
