LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Ryan Miller won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s top goaltender after helping the Buffalo Sabres to the Northeast Division title.
He set a franchise record with 41 victories and beat out Ilya Bryzgalov of the Phoenix Coyotes and New Jersey’s Martin Brodeur, a four-time winner of this award.
Miller was nominated for the first time and has long hoped to win the award.
“When I do things I always want to do them the very best way,” said Miller. “I’ve been working very hard to get to this situation. It just kind of comes with a blend of putting in the time and also having the people around me.”
