Bulldogs extend win streak to three games with 4-3 victory over Monsters

CLEVELAND – Brock Trotter scored a goal and an assist as Hamilton defeated the Lake Erie Monsters 4-3 on Saturday in AHL action, extending the Bulldog’s win streak to three.

The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead at 14:46 of the first frame when Trotter intercepted the puck in front of Lake Erie’s net before backhanding a shot past Lake Erie (3-18-1-5) starting goaltender Jason Bacashihua.

While on a two-man advantage, the ‘Dogs (24-12-2-0) added their second goal of the period at 16:25 with Mike Glumac potted his team-leading 16th goal of the season.

T.J. Galiardi cut the lead in half at 17:35 with a short-handed marker, firing a shot that squeaked through the pads of Hamilton starting goaltender Loic Lacasse, who made 31 saves on the night.

Chris Durno tied the game 2-2 with a power-play marker at 16:20 of the middle frame, blasting a shot from the blue-line that sailed through traffic and past Lacasse.

Tom Fritsche buried the puck underneath Lacasse to give the Monsters a 3-2 lead at 18:44 of the second.

Yanick Lehoux tied the game 3-3 at 9:22 of the final frame, and Ryan White ripped a shot that slipped through the legs of Bacashihua and into the back of the net for the game-winner.
