Calgary defenceman Cory Sarich fined for head shot on Ottawa’s Condra

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Calgary Flames defenceman Cory Sarich was fined Saturday for a head shot on Ottawa’s Erik Condra.

Sarich was fined the maximum US$2,500 by the NHL but escaped a suspension for the hit on Condra during a 4-3 loss to the Senators on Friday.

Sarich had been penalized for interference on the play.
