MONTREAL – The Montreal Canadiens named Pierre Groulx goaltending coach and Perry Pearn assistant coach to round out their coaching staff Monday.
Both have previously worked with new head coach Jacques Martin, and join returning assistant Kirk Muller.
Groulx spent the past four seasons with the Florida Panthers, where Martin served first as head coach and later general manager before making the move to Montreal.
Groulx spent five seasons as the video coach for the Ottawa Senators prior to that and was part of the coaching staff for Canada at the 2005 world hockey championship.
Pearn spent most the past five seasons as an assistant with the New York Rangers. He worked as an assistant to Martin with the Ottawa Senators from 1996 to 2004.
Pearn began his NHL career in 1995-96 as an assistant to Terry Simpson with the Winnipeg Jets after winning gold with Canada three times at the world junior hockey championship, twice as an assistant and once as a head coach.
