Capitals assign Alzner, Carlson, Neuvirth to Hershey of AHL

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have assigned defencemen Karl Alzner and John Carlson and goaltender Michael Neuvirth to Hershey of the American Hockey League.

All three players have split the season between the Capitals and Hershey. Washington general manager George McPhee announced the moves on Sunday.

Alzner has five assists in 21 games with the Capitals, while Carlson has one assist in seven games. Neuvirth went 9-4-0 with a 2.75 goals-against average with Washington, a stint that forced him to miss the AHL All-Star Game.
