Capitals defenceman Dennis Wideman, Blue Jackets winger Rick Nash sidelined

WASHINGTON – Washington defenceman Dennis Wideman sat out the Capitals’ game against Columbus on Thursday night because of a lower-body injury, and Blue Jackets right winger Rick Nash was sidelined by an undisclosed injury.

Wideman was hurt in the second period Tuesday night in a loss to Carolina. The Hurricanes’ Tuomo Ruutu checked Wideman, who limped off the ice and did not return. He has already been ruled out Saturday game against Buffalo and is listed as week-to-week.
