Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin returns after missing 2 games with shoulder injury

WASHINGTON – Alex Ovechkin has returned to the Washington Capitals lineup after missing two games with a shoulder injury.

Ovechkin was on the ice for Tuesday night’s home game against the New York Islanders.

The three-time NHL MVP was hurt last week when he crashed headfirst into the goalie and net in the first period of a loss at Vancouver.

Ovechkin had 10 goals and five assists in his first 12 games.
