NEW YORK, N.Y. – Washington goaltender Braden Holtby has earned the NHL’s first star of the week honour after leading the Capitals to four straight wins.
Vancouver Canucks forward Daniel Sedin was named the second star, while Anaheim Ducks forward Corey Perry was the third star.
Holtby stopped 110 of 114 shots through four games with Washington (40-20-10).
The 21-year-old had a 1.05 goals-against average, a .965 save percentage and one shutout.
Sedin led the league in scoring with three goals and five assists in three games for Vancouver (45-16-9).
He leads the scoring race with 37 goals and 52 assists in 70 games.
Perry led all goal scorers with five goals and added two assists in three starts for Anaheim (37-27-5).
Perry is fifth in the league with 36 goals and 39 assists in 69 games.
