RALEIGH, N.C. – The Carolina Hurricanes signed forward Chad LaRose to a US$875,000, one-year contract on Wednesday.
The deal allowed the team to avoid going to salary arbitration with LaRose, who made $500,000 last year.
The 26-year-old LaRose has played three seasons with the Hurricanes. He had 23 points (11-12) in 58 games last season.
General manager Jim Rutherford said he expected the announcement to be the last signing for the team during the off-season.
