Chicago scores three times in second period of 4-1 win over Manitoba

WINNIPEG – Junior Lessard, Jeff Hamilton and Riley Holzapfel each had a goal and an assist as the Chicago Wolves cruised to a 6-2 win over the Manitoba Moose in AHL action Tuesday night.

Rylan Kaip, Joe Motzko and Spencer Machacek also scored for the Wolves (19-13-1-1), who broke a 1-1 tie with three straight second-period goals. Brent Krahn stopped 17 shots to earn the win. Maxime Fortunus and Mario Bliznak scored for the Moose (21-10-0-1).

Karl Goehring started in goal for Manitoba, but was yanked after allowing four goals on 22 shots. Julien Ellis took over and made 14 saves the rest of the way.

The teams meet again Wednesday afternoon in Winnipeg.
