Chicago takes 3-0 series lead in Calder Cup final vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Chicago Wolves are one win away from winning the Calder Cup.

Jesse Schultz scored twice in a five-goal period for Chicago and the Wolves went on to rout the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 6-1 in Game 3 of the American Hockey League championship series on Wednesday.

That gives the Wolves a 3-0 series lead, with the Penguins hosting Game 4 on Friday.

Mike Hamilton, Jordan LaVallee, Matt Anderson and Joel Kwiatkowski added goals for Chicago. Ondrej Pavelec made 24 saves in goal.

Kurtis McLean scored 10:44 into the first period for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, which gave them an early lead before the Wolves’ onslaught.

David Brown and John Curry combined for 26 stops for the Penguins.
