Chicago Wolves forward Brett Sterling named rookie of the year

The 22-year-old left-winger from Los Angeles led the AHL with 52 goals and was fourth with 93 points in 74 games this season.

Sterling, selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the fifth round of the 2003 NHL entry draft, is just the fifth rookie in league history to reach the 50-goal plateau.
