Connauton scores shootout winner to lift Manitoba Moose over Bears 5-4

HERSHEY, Pa. – Kevin Connauton scored the only goal in a shootout Saturday to lift the Manitoba Moose over the Hersehey Bears 5-4 in the American Hockey League.

Connauton beat Bears goalie Todd Ford after six Moose players failed to score.

Jordan Schroeder and Bill Sweatt each scored a goal and two assists in regulation for Manitoba. Mark Flood and Ryan Parent also scored for the visitors.

Schroeder scored the tying goal on the power play midway through the third period to force overtime.

Francois Bouchard, Kyle Greentree, Dmitri Kugryshev and Keith Aucoin each scored for Hershey (30-14-4).

Eddie Lack made 30 saves for the Moose, who improved to 28-14-6 with the win.
