Crosby, Malkin lead Penguins against Sabres

Buffalo (12-11-3) at Pittsburgh (15-7-4), 7:30 pm EST

PITTSBURGH (Ticker) — The Pittsburgh Penguins’ high-scoring duo
of captain Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin once again will be
the focal point against the Buffalo Sabres on Monday.

Crosby is currently on a six-game point streak and has 40 on the
season – second to Malkin’s league-leading 43 points. No other
player has more than 35.

The 21-year-old Crosby has six goals and eight points over his
current streak, but the Penguins have posted just three wins
over that stretch (3-2-1).

Malkin had a goal and set up another Saturday, but Pittsburgh
still suffered a 3-2 setback to the Ottawa Senators. The
Penguins, however, have not lost back-to-back games since

The Sabres have struggled offensively this season, producing
just 70 goals despite Thomas Vanek being tied for the league
lead with 19.

Vanek scored again Saturday as Buffalo finally found some
offense, pulling out a 4-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Sabres had scored just three goals in their previous three
contests – all losses.
