Curtis Sanford makes 29 saves as Bulldogs shut out Barons 3-0 in AHL action

OKLAHOMA CITY – Curtis Sanford made 29 saves for his first shutout of the season Friday as the Hamilton Bulldogs blanked the Oklahoma City Barons 3-0 in American Hockey League play.

Dustin Boyd, in his first game with Hamilton, Ben Maxwell and David Desharnais scored for the Bulldogs (17-8-4).

Martin Gerber made 20 saves in defeat for the Barons (16-10-4).

The Bulldogs opened the scoring at 14:19 of the first on a two-man advantage. Aaron Palushaj dished the puck to Maxwell, who rifled a shot that sailed over Gerber’s right shoulder.

Hamilton took a 2-0 lead at 6:25 of the second on another power play. Desharnais skated behind the Barons’ net before feeding the puck to Boyd, who beat Gerber.

Desharnais rounded out the scoring at 14:55 of the third after intercepting a pass and snapping a shot off the post past Gerber.
