Curtis Sanford makes 38 saves as Hamilton Bulldogs blank Rockford IceHogs 3-0

HAMILTON, Ont. – Curtis Sanford made 38 saves and Hamilton scored three times in the third as the Bulldogs shut out the Rockford IceHogs 3-0 in American Hockey League action Friday.

Ryan White had a goal and an assist for Hamilton (1-0-1), while Andrew Conboy and Tommy Pyatt also scored.

Marc-Andre Bergeron – on a conditioning stint with Bulldogs after signing with the Montreal Canadiens earlier this week – added two assists, including one on White’s power-play goal.

Bergeron played in 72 games with the Minnesota Wild last season, recording 14 goals and 18 assists.

It’s hoped Bergeron will fill a hole in Montreal’s depleted defence corps after recent injuries to star blue-liner Andrei Markov and Ryan O’Byrne.

Corey Crawford made 38 saves in taking the loss for Rockford (0-1-1).
