Division of Death: the Central stays supreme

As teams hit or approach the 50-game mark, the St. Louis Blues and their Central kin are still the NHL’s most dominant division.

At the quarter mark of the season, the Central had the highest points percentage of the NHL’s four divisions. And with teams now past the halfway mark of the season, it has kept its crown as the league’s reigning Division of Death:

Central .605
Pacific .572
Metropolitan .550
Atlantic .540

Still, as at the season’s quarter pole, if you cut each division’s dead weight (bottom two or three teams), tally just the top five per division, the Pacific comes out ever so slightly ahead as the most top-heavy:
