Denis Hamel scores power-play winner, adds assist as Phantoms edge Heat 2-1

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. – Denis Hamel scored the power-play winner and added an assist as the Adirondack Phantoms edged the Abbotsford Heat 2-1 in American Hockey League action Saturday.

Hamel, who scored his 300th AHL goal on Friday, has four goals in his last three games.

Michael Ryan opened the scoring with a short-handed goal for Adirondack (6-23-2).

Matt Keith, with a power-play goal, replied for Abbotsford (16-15-3).

Nic Riopel made 26 saves for Adirondack.

Leland Irving stopped 21 shots for Abbotsford.
