Desbiens nets overtime winner in Manitoba’s 2-1 victory over Chicago

WINNIPEG – Guillaume Desbiens scored 1:47 into overtime to lead the Manitoba Moose to a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Wolves in an American Hockey League matinee Wednesday.

Desbiens converted a Jason Krog pass and beat Wolves netminder Brent Krahn to help the Moose (22-10-0-1) earn a split of their two-game series with Chicago (19-13-2-1) in Winnipeg. The Wolves won the opener 6-2 on Tuesday night.

Maxime Fortunus had the other Manitoba goal, while Krog and Nolan Baumgartner added two assists apiece in the victory.

Joe Motzko’s 22nd goal of the season provided the lone offence for the Wolves.

Karl Goehring stopped 25 shots to earn the win for the Moose.

Krahn finished with 20 saves in the loss.
