Detroit, Sweden LW Tomas Holmstrom leaves game vs. Kings with leg injury

LOS ANGELES – Detroit left wing Tomas Holmstrom has injured his left leg during the first period of the Red Wings’ game against the Los Angeles Kings.

Holmstrom, a member of Sweden’s Olympic team, won’t return to Saturday’s game, the Red Wings said.

Holmstrom returned to Detroit’s lineup last Tuesday night at San Jose after missing 13 games with a broken foot. He played most of the first period against the Kings before leaving the bench late in the period.
