Parise had seven goals and three assists for 10 points in 11 playoff games. The Devils were eliminated last Saturday by Ottawa. The Senators won the NHL Eastern Conference semifinal in five games.
Parise had 31 goals and 31 assists for 62 points in the regular season, his second with the Devils. He’s expected to be in the lineup when the United States plays Finland in a quarter-final game Thursday.
Parise, 22, recorded two assists in three games at the 2005 world championship. He helped the U.S. team win gold at the 2002 IIHF World Under-18 Championship and at the 2004 IIHF World Junior Championship.
The five-foot-11 190-pounder from Minneapolis was New Jersey’s first-round selection (17th overall) in the 2003 NHL entry draft.
