Don’t let weak sticks decide games

It is the playoffs, so let the ancient tradition of ripping on the referees continue.

My problem is not with the referees, but with the rules.

Many good games have been turned on a slashing penalty where the player merely tapped his opponent’s stick, causing the flimsy twig to break.

This rule is making it far too tough on defending players trying to steal the puck. If players want to play with such a weak stick, they must accept that there is a risk that comes with it.
