Ducks wrap up road trip in Chicago

Anaheim (31-28-5) at Chicago (35-17-9), 8:30 pm EST

CHICAGO (Ticker) — The Anaheim Ducks will conclude their
season-high six-game road trip by visiting the Chicago
Blackhawks on Tuesday.

The Ducks, who have posted a 3-2-0 record over their trip, are
coming off Saturday’s 4-3 victory over the Dallas Stars. Teemu
Selanne netted the game-winner midway through the third period.

Thanks to the successful road trip, Anaheim has climbed to
eighth place in the Western Conference. The Ducks are in the
thick of a tight playoff race with four points separating sixth
from 12th.

Jonathan Toews got the Blackhawks off to a fast start en route
to snapping a three-game losing streak. The captain scored just
47 seconds into Sunday’s game, helping Chicago post a 4-2
victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

“This is a big win for us,” Toews said. “We put three periods
together and were able to finish the game. It can be
nerve-wracking when you only have a one-goal lead in the third
period, so we can be happy how we finished.”

Toews was coming off his first career hat trick a day earlier,
when he scored three power-play goals during a 5-4 overtime loss
to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
