Edmonton Oilers activate star defenceman Sheldon Souray from injured reserve

ST. LOUIS – The Edmonton Oilers have activated Sheldon Souray from injured reserve. The star defenceman missed 25 games with a shoulder injury.

Souray was placed on the NHL injured reserve list on Oct. 24 after suffering a second degree sprain of his left shoulder in a game at Vancouver on Oct. 13.

Prior to the injury, Souray scored a goal and an assist in six games.

Defenceman Mathieu Roy cleared waivers Tuesday and was assigned to the AHL’s Springfield Falcons.
