Edmonton Oilers sign goaltender Tyler Bunz to entry level contract

EDMONTON – The Edmonton Oilers have signed goaltender Tyler Bunz to a three-year entry level contract.

Bunz, 20, went 39-17-5 with a 2.57 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage with the Western Hockey League’s Medicine Hat Tigers.

The six-foot-one, 198-pound goalie was selected by Edmonton 121st overall in the 2010 draft.

In 197 regular season games Bunz has a 115-55-19 record with the Tigers as well as a 2.72 GAA, .911 save percentage and eight shutouts.

Medicine Hat opens the WHL playoffs Friday against the Saskatoon Blades.
