Edmonton Oilers sign winger Gregory Stewart to one-year contract

EDMONTON – The Edmonton Oilers signed free-agent winger Gregory Stewart to a one-year contract on Friday.

The 24-year-old spent most of last season with the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs, registering 10 points (5-5) and 90 penalty minutes in 45 games.

He didn’t have any points while playing five games for the Montreal Canadiens last year.

Montreal selected Stewart in the eighth-round of the 2004 draft.

He’s appeared in 26 career NHL games, registering one assist.
