VOORHEES, N.J. – Philadelphia Flyers centre R.J. Umberger, who missed the last six games with a sprained left knee, is set to return and play Wednesday night at Pittsburgh.
Umberger, who has six of his 12 goals this season against his hometown Penguins, sprained his left knee March 16 at Pittsburgh. He resumed practising this week and played with a brace on his knee.
“I want to be on that ice so bad and help that team,” Umberger said Tuesday. “The last two days I pushed myself pretty hard.”
Umberger has eight goals and 18 points in 21 career games against the Penguins.
