According to a report in the Denver Post, Peter Forsberg was unable to suit up for Modo Tuesday night because of his chronic foot injury.
“I will think for a couple of days before I make a decision, but it doesn’t look good,” Forsberg said to the media in Sweden.
Forsberg didn’t sound too hopefully for the future. Given his track record of injuries though, the latest setback didn’t come as a surprise, but will have to be something he seriously thnks about going forward.
“I am not that surprised,” Forsberg said. “It has happened before and I was prepared for it this time as well. It seems impossible to fix the problem. I have tried it all.”
A two-time Stanley Cup winner with the Colorado Avalanche, Forsberg accumulated 885 points in 706 career NHL games. He won the Calder Trophy as rookie of the year in 1994-95 and later won the Hart Trophy as league MVP after the 2–2-03 season.
