Giroux has goal and assist in return to Hershey’s lineup as Bears beat Moose

WINNIPEG – Alexandre Giroux had a goal and an assist in his return to the Hershey Bears organization, helping his team beat the Manitoba Moose 4-3 in American Hockey League action Wednesday.

Giroux led the Bears with 42 goals and 70 points last season. He returned to Hershey when the Washington Capitals obtained his NHL rights in a trade with the Atlanta Thrashers on Tuesday.

Jay Beagle, Josef Boumedienne, and Ryan Flinn also scored for the Bears (32-19-1-5), and Sami Lepisto contributed three assists. Flinn’s goal was his first of the season.

Hershey goaltender Daren Machesney picked up the win with 24 saves.

Brad Moran, Jannik Hansen, and Mike Brown scored for Manitoba (31-24-2-2), while Drew MacIntyre made 28 saves.
