Good luck, Wade Redden

As an Ottawa Senators fan I am bitterly disappointed with their first round exit and the team’s overall play in the second half of the season, but I am too emotional to discuss this rationally at the moment. However, I wanted to drop you a line about defender Wade Redden who has now played his last game for the Senators.

There will always be debate as to whether the Sens made the right decision two years ago to let Zdeno Chara leave and keep Redden. As Redden enters free agency he should be thanked for his years of loyal service to Ottawa, playing in over 900 regular season and playoff games, always representing the Senators with class and style and his involvement in the local community.

You can sometimes criticize his play, but he has always been an integral player on this team. He will be a hot commodity on the free agent market this summer and will be a good addition to any lineup.

I thank him and wish him all the best for the next stage of his career.
