Holden’s first career goal helps Crunch beat Bulldogs 3-1

HAMILTON – Syracuse defenceman Nick Holden scored his first career goal to lift the Crunch past the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-1 in AHL action Sunday.

Holden’s goal at 9:53 in the third period helped the Crunch snap a three-game losing streak and improve to 27-25-3-2.

Ryan Kinasewich scored the lone goal for the Bulldogs, who dropped to 35-21-2-0.

With Bulldogs defenceman Alex Henry in the penalty box for hooking, Derek MacKenzie scored a power-play goal to tie the game at one in the final seconds of the second period.

Steve Kelly sealed the win for the Syracuse with his 10th goal of the season at 14:41 in the third.

Crunch goalie Dan LaCosta made 34 saves for the win, while at the other end Marc Denis stopped 29 shots.
