Islanders trying to snap eight-game skid

NY Islanders (10-19-3) at Nashville (15-13-3), 8:00 pm EST

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) — The New York Islanders are
still searching for their first win of December.

The Islanders will try to end an eight-game losing streak when
they square off against the Nashville Predators on Saturday.

New York surrendered three goals in the third period Friday,
suffering a 4-1 setback to the Minnesota Wild, who entered the
contest on a six-game slide.

Richard Park scored the lone goal for the Islanders, who have
posted an 0-7-1 record this month.

“We didn’t play very well,” Kyle Okposo said. “It’s obviously
frustrating for all the guys. We just have to stay on course,
keep playing at working hard.”

The Predators have lost four of their last five contests.
Vernon Fiddler had a goal Thursday, but Nashville was handed a
2-1 setback to the Phoenix Coyotes.

The Predators have not scored more than three goals in a game
since November 28, netting just 17 goals in that nine-game span.
