Jared Lynch from Camrose, Alta., asks What was it like being in the All-Star Game dressing room?
Unbelievable and overwhelming. For a guy who never knew where his career would go, being there with guys like Sidney Crosby, Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St-Louis was a huge thrill.
Harvey Levine from the Bronx, N.Y., asks What players, past or present, exemplify your work ethic?
I take my training pretty serious in the off-season, as I’m sure a lot of guys do. St-Louis is one guy with an unbelievable work ethic. I like to look at what other small guys do.
Peter Veltkamp from Prescott, Ont., asks Who is the hardest hitter in the NHL under 6-feet tall?
Probably Jordin Tootoo.
Mike Kasarin from Hamilton, Ont., asks Why do you wear No. 55?
I wore No. 5 in college at North Dakota and in junior, but it was already taken when I got to L.A. I thought I would get to wear it in New York, but it was hanging in the rafters – Denis Potvin – so I asked Mike Milbury if I could wear No. 55. I don’t know why.
Eric Barbosa from Dublin, Ont., asks What’s your favorite pre-game meal?
I like 1 p.m. starts so I can have waffles, but most games are 7 p.m. so I’ll say chicken and spaghetti.
