Krejci, Bruins ready for Hurricanes

Carolina (15-12-5) at Boston (22-5-4) 1:00 p.m. EST

BOSTON (Ticker) — Boston Bruins coach Claude Julien is happy he
kept David Krejci on the team.

Julien, Krejci and the Bruins go for their fourth straight win
on Saturday when they host the Carolina Hurricanes.

The 22-year-old center, Krejci recorded his first career hat
trick and Phil Kessel notched two goals and an assist to extend
his scoring streak to 16 games, helping the Bruins claim an 8-5
victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday – their 12th
consecutive win at home.

Julien was extremely impressed with his young forward’s
performance and progression as a goal-scorer.

“First time we saw Krejci here, we thought it was time to send
him back down to Providence,” Julien said. “I don’t think we’ll
be sending him down anytime soon.”

Krejci is tied with Michael Ryder for second on Boston with 11
goals and ranks third with 32 points.

The Hurricanes have won back-to-back games, including a 2-1
overtime victory against the Florida Panthers on Thursday.

Defenseman Joe Corvo scored with 44 seconds left in overtime to
lift the Hurricanes to their third straight home win.

While Carolina has been surging at home, it has struggled on the
road, going 1-3-2 in its last six games there.
