Buffalo (11-11-3) at Tampa Bay (6-11-8), 7:30 pm EST

TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) — It hasn’t mattered who their coach
is, the Tampa Bay Lightning can’t seem to make winning a habit.

Captain Vincent Lecavalier will try to help the Lightning snap a
five-game winless streak when they host the Buffalo Sabres on

Tampa Bay has posted a 1-6-4 record over the last 11 contests, a
stretch that saw a coaching change from Barry Melrose to Rick
Tocchet. Despite the team’s struggles, Lecavalier hasn’t had

Over the Lightning’s miserable run, Lecavalier has four goals
and six assists. The 28-year-old, who was rumored to be
instrumental in Melrose’s departure, has 10 goals and 20 points

The Sabres are also on a losing skid, falling in their previous
three contests. It’s not hard to see why Buffalo has struggled,
managing three goals over the losing streak.

Ales Kotalik’s power-play goal in the third period of Thursday’s
2-1 loss to the Florida Panthers snapped the team’s 143-minute,
40-second scoreless drought.

The Sabres have lost eight of their last 10 games, scoring just
19 goals during that stretch.
