Just a comment to ponder: Looser mesh inside the goal nets.
This is something the NHL should consider employing to help enhance the excitement of a goal being scored. At times, the puck rebounds in and out quickly or hits the back bar and makes it difficult to tell if the puck actually entered the net.
Video replay usually solves the problem, but the goal or no-goal decision can be anti-climactic, especially when looser netting would make a goal more obvious.
I understand they don’t use looser netting to avoid stoppages from the puck being caught on the outside. However, looser mesh would negate stoppages for video review.
