Los Angeles Kings re-sign defenceman Modry, forward Giuliano

The Kings signed the veteran defenceman to a US$1.2-million, one-year contract on Friday.

Modry was sent to Los Angeles at the trade deadline in February along with draft picks in the deal that sent Mattias Norstrom to the Dallas Stars.

The 36-year-old Modry earned $1.9 million last year, when he had one goal and 18 points in 76 games for the Kings and Stars.
