Manitoba Moose re-signs veteran Mike Keane

WINNIPEG – Veteran captain Mike Keane has re-signed with the Manitoba Moose, the club announced Thursday.

The Winnipeg native will return for a fourth season with the American Hockey League affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, marking his 21st season in professional hockey.

Keane, who won three Stanley Cups (Montreal ’93, Colorado ’96, Dallas ’99) and played in 1,230 NHL games over his career, has scored 19 goals and 36 assists for 55 points and 148 penalty minutes in 216 games with Manitoba.

In 31 Calder Cup playoff games with the Moose in three seasons, he has four goals and three assists for seven points and 17 penalty minutes.

Last season, the 41-year-old appeared in 73 games where he scored eight goals and eight assists for 16 points and 36 penalty minutes.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
