Maple Leafs goalie Jonas Gustavsson returns to Toronto, sees cardiac specialist

TORONTO – Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Jonas Gustavsson returned to Toronto on Wednesday and was scheduled to see a cardiac specialist.

Gustavsson was taken to hospital with an elevated heart rate following the first period of Toronto’s 3-0 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night.

It was labelled a precautionary move because the Swedish rookie needed to have minor heart surgery during training camp following a similar incident.
