Maple Leafs look for season-high win streak vs. Senators

OTTAWA (Ticker) — In a matchup of teams far out from playoff
contention, the Toronto Maple Leafs have something to play for
when they visit the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.

Toronto will look to set a season-high with its fourth straight
win against its Northeast Division rival.

In their last five games, 60 minutes has not been enough for the
Maple Leafs as they have needed overtime or a shootout to decide
their fate.

Following a pair of home shootout losses to Columbus and
Vancouver, Vesa Toskala has helped Toronto win two games in the
bonus format as it swept through New York with three victories.

Niklas Hagman scored the game-winner during a 3-2 overtime
victory over the Rangers on Sunday and Toskala allowed only one
goal in a combined six shootout attempts in bonus format wins
over the Rangers and Islanders this week.

Ottawa has followed its season-high, five-game winning streak by
going 1-3-1 in its last five contests, including a 2-1 setback
against San Jose on Thursday.

Mike Fisher had the lone goal and Alex Auld stopped 22 shots for
the Senators, who are in the midst of a season-long, eight-game
homestand. They started the stretch Tuesday with a 4-2 win
against Carolina before dropping the meeting with the Sharks.
