Mark Stuart, Adam Burish added to American team for worlds

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Defenceman Mark Stuart and forward Adam Burish were added to the U.S. roster Thursday for the upcoming IIHF World Hockey Championship.

Stuart played in 82 regular-season games for the Boston Bruins this season and recorded eight points (4-4). He last played for the national team at the 2004 world junior championship, when he captained the U.S. to its first-ever gold medal in that event.

Burish will represent his country for the first time. The 25-year-old appeared in 81 games for the Chicago Blackhawks this season and had eight points (4-4).

The American team opened its training camp in Portland, Maine, on Thursday. It plays its first world championship game against Latvia on May 2 in Halifax.
