Mason, Blue Jackets look to rebound from woeful showing

Jackets will attempt to bounce back from one of their worst
performances of the season when they host the St. Louis Blues on

One of the top rookies in the league this season, Mason
surrendered three goals on just eight shots in the first 11
minutes before being pulled from Saturday’s 7-3 loss to the
Dallas Stars.

Still considered the early favorite to win the Calder Trophy,
Mason has posted a 19-11-2 record with a 2.06 goals-against
average and an NHL-best seven shutouts.

The 20-year-old’s workload will likely diminish in the near

Blues goaltender Chris Mason is currently riding a scoreless
streak of more than 95 minutes.

Following a 36-save effort in a 4-0 victory over the
Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, Mason relieved a struggling
Manny Legace during Monday’s 4-3 shootout loss to the Detroit
Red Wings.
