According to a high-placed source, center Max Domi will play in the Ontario League next year and will do so as a member of the London Knights.
The son of ex-NHL enforcer Tie Domi was drafted by the Kingston Frontenacs, but will be dealt to London before the season begins. Kingston can acquire a conditional first round selection next year in the process since technically Domi is an unsigned first-rounder.
Dynamic and super-skilled, Domi had also kept his NCAA eligibility open and was considering a season in the United States League with the Indiana Ice. After that, it was expected that he would attend the University of Michigan. But the OHL was always looming and even before that circuit’s draft, some believed he would end up in London, where the Hunter brothers have done well grooming elite prospects such as Patrick Kane, Sam Gagner and Corey Perry.
