Mike Brodeur makes 36 saves as Americans edge Bulldogs 2-1

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Rochester goaltender Mike Brodeur turned away 36 of 37 shots as the Americans beat the Hamilton Bulldogs 2-1 on Friday night in American Hockey League action.

The Americans opened the scoring while on the power play at 18:48 of the opening frame. Peter Aston blasted a shot from the point that bounced off a Hamilton player in front of the net. The puck hit Hamilton goaltender Cedrick Desjardins before rolling over the goal line.

David Brine added another power-play goal for Rochester at 14:02 of the final frame. While falling backwards, Brine banged the loose puck past Desjardins.

Hamilton’s Mike Glumac cut the lead in half at 16:38 of the third while on a power play. Glumac received a pass from Mathieu Carle before rifling a shot past Mike Brodeur. Olivier Latendresse also earned an assist on the play.

Desjardins stopped 22 of 24 shots fired at the Hamilton net.
