Lucic has been suspended by the NHL twice, both for one game apiece, but if the league decides there’s sufficient evidence he broke the boundaries of good taste, he could be looking at a longer suspension. When he was a member of the New York Islanders in 2010, defenseman James Wisniewski received a two-game suspension for making a similarly untoward hand gesture toward Rangers pest Sean Avery during a game.
