Move the refs upstairs

We have the technology, so let’s start thinking about moving the officials off-ice to free up some space and to give those officials a better view of the game.

With comfy chairs, warm rooms and multiple monitors perhaps we’d have a better job of controlling the on-ice game than we have now.

It might also put an end to the attitude seemingly adopted in the final of, “Let the players decide it; no whistle unless a stick is broken or blood is shed.”

An uncalled icing or high stick can influence the outcome of a game. And to see the Stanley Cup decided by non-calls makes me very nervous about the next regular season’s officiating.
