New Year’s game truly a classic

Joe Connor, Pennsville, N.J.

Huge props to the NHL, Gary Bettman, the Bruins, Flyers and Beantown for an amazing start to 2010.

This season’s Winter Classic was the best yet.

Philly and Boston fought like juggernauts to the end. My pick for first star of the game was Flyers goalie Mike Leighton. He nearly stole the show by fending off the Bruins for 99 percent of the game.

What a “classic” ending to an incredible game.

Now if only the NHL and Bettman could make the All-Star Game this exciting every year…nah, never happen!
