NHL All-Star Game ratings up from last year in U.S., down in Canada

NEW YORK – Ratings for the NHL all-star game increased from last year in the U.S., but declined in Canada.

In Canada, Sunday’s 56th NHL All-Star Game drew 1.163 million viewers on CBC, 11.3 per cent less than last season’s game, which was watched by an average audience of 1.310 million.

CBC’s broadcast of the All-Star skills competition and NHL YoungStars game drew an audience of 1.030 million Saturday, down 6.1 per cent from last year’s viewership of 1.096 million.

On Versus in the U.S., the all-star game drew a .8 rating, up 14 per cent from the .7 last season with 796,717 viewers.

The most recent NBA all-star game drew 6.84 million U.S. viewers, and baseball’s all-star game drew an audience of 12.5 million.
