Oilers hope to end skid against Lightning

EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) — The Edmonton Oilers look to snap a
three-game losing streak when they host the Tampa Bay Lightning
on Tuesday.

After a suffering a pair of 4-2 defeats to San Jose and Dallas,
respectively, Edmonton opened a four-game homestand with a 3-2
shootout loss to Calgary on Saturday.

Todd Bertuzzi scored the lone goal in the bonus format after
Matthew Lombardi tied the score with 65 seconds remaining in the
contest for the Flames.

Ales Hemsky scored his team-leading 19th goal and Erik Cole also
tallied in defeat for the Oilers.

Tampa Bay, which is opening a three-game road trip in the
Pacific Northwest, is coming off a 4-3 victory over the Eastern
Conference-leading Boston Bruins on Sunday.

Vaclav Prospal scored the game-winner on the power play with
1:55 left to play for the Lightning, who earned their first win
in five games (1-3-1).

Karri Ramo made 40 saves and Jeff Halpern, Adam Hall and Mark
Recchi also tallied for Tampa Bay.
